In order to comply with training requirements
of the ISO 9000 Standard, it is necessary to conduct a companywide
ISO 9000 orientation class. All employees should be given a copy
of the quality manual during this orientation. Orientation is an
integral part of your company's ISO compliance process. From top
management down, employees need to be a part of the process. The
following are key elements to an ISO orientation:
Clear
communication on the goals of the project
Input
from each department and individual
The
need for on-going internal audits
Understanding
of and effective response to corrective actions
A set
of quality objectives
An outline
of the benefits
A clear
understanding of the reasons your company is seeking certification
It is also important to communicate to employees the importance
of meeting customer, statutory and regulatory requirements as the
goal of the Quality Management System (QMS).
To satisfy the requirements of the standard, this ISO orientation
needs to be a formalized, scheduled training class. A course description
will need to be created, classes scheduled and every employee will
need to have their personal training plans amended to reflect that
they have participated in and received the necessary ISO orientation.
